Jules, the head winemaker’s wife, already had a successful career in the wine industry and when George founded his venture the name “Better Half” was a challenging but natural choice. He made labels that reflected his passion for airplanes and aviation, with a strong, daring eagle that is usually painted on the aircraft’s livery. His wines do strongly represent the crisp, lively identity of Marlborough’s production.
